Frequently asked questions
Do I need a permit for an EV charger?
Often yes—especially for new 240V circuits or panel changes. We’ll pull permits and schedule inspections when required.
Do I need a panel upgrade?
Not always. We’ll check capacity during the load calculation. If space or capacity is tight, we may recommend a subpanel or full panel upgrade.
Which is better: hardwired or plug-in (NEMA 14-50)?
Hardwired is common for higher current and outdoor use. A 14-50 receptacle offers flexibility. We’ll recommend the best option for your charger and location.
Can you install a Tesla Wall Connector?
Yes. We install Tesla Wall Connectors and most Level 2 chargers (ChargePoint, Emporia, JuiceBox, etc.).
How long does installation take?
Many installs take half a day to a day. Complex routing or panel work may take longer—we’ll outline timeline in your estimate.
Can you install outdoors?
Yes. We use weather-rated equipment and follow clearances and local code.
